Annual Audit
Aylesham Parish Council's accounts are audited via Independent Internal Auditor David Buckett, who undertakes a visit to view the Parish Council's accounts and other auditing documents once a year.
The end of year accounts for 2024-25 have been audited by the Internal Auditor who has completed the relevant forms on the Annual Government and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2024/25. Aylesham Parish Council agreed the AGAR at its meeting on 10th June 2025 when the Chief Executive Officer/RFO and Chair signed the appropriate papers.
Aylesham Parish Council Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) is subject to review by the appointed auditor under the provisions of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014, the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 and the NAO's Code of Audit Practice 2015. The appointed auditor is:

Aylesham Parish Council will also shortly publish the Annual Internal Audit Report which is recommended as best practice for local Councils.
Accessibility Regulations
Forvis Mazars LLP are aware that the Accounts and Audit Regulations requirement for a physical ‘wet ink’ signature on the original AGAR, does not allow parish council’s to fully comply with the Accessibility Regulations. The National Audit Office are aware that the two pieces of legislation are not compatible. Due to this Aylesham Parish Council must advise that the document is a scan and will not be fully compliant with the Accessibility Regulations.
