🌳 Spinney Wood – Proposed Winter Coppicing Works 2026/27
Aylesham Parish Council has published information regarding proposed winter coppicing works at Spinney Wood.
White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (WCCP), which manages the woodland on behalf of the Parish Council, has submitted an application to Dover District Council for consent to coppice/re-coppice approximately 40 trees within two areas of the woodland as part of a six-year management plan.
The trees are protected by a Tree Preservation Order, so consent from Dover District Council is required before the works can take place. The Tree Preservation Order itself is not being removed.
The publication also includes information about the Parish Council’s upcoming routine tree survey at Spinney Wood, which is undertaken every 18 months for health and safety and insurance purposes and is separate from the current coppicing application.
Please see the attached publication for further information, including details of the proposed works, why coppicing is undertaken, the current planning application and who to contact with any enquiries.
DDC Application Reference: 26/00726
Further information will be published as it becomes available.
